Eva’s Story | Royal College of Nursing

The client needed us to capture and turn around a film quickly that would encourage international nurses to cast their votes in an upcoming ballot.

Filming this on location in the contributor’s house in a limited time frame did create some challenges for the crew, but we were able to rely on the bread and butter of short video production, in the form of interview and b-roll. The contributor time slot was narrow, and setting up in an unseen location relied on decisive decision making on camera angles and set-up for the interview. We set up the interview quickly with two camera’s to enable us to edit around sentences and make them more concise. Capturing b-roll was limited, given that the contributor had only moved into the house a day before. We managed to capture some simple domestic tasks to tie in with the interview content, focussed around strike action for a lack of pay, and reflect the effects cost of living was having on nurses the time of production. The edit was quickly turned around into various format for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
